Sterling Race Spectacular

On Saturday May 9th  The Colavita New England Team was out in force at the 15th Annual Sterling Road Race.  It was a perfect day for racing with temperatures in the 70's.  The course was an 8 mile loop with over 550 ft of climbing per lap.  The majority of the climbing was the 11% ascent at the finish line.

Dan Vaillancourt from the Colavita Men's Pro Team took 1st place in the Men's Pro 1-2 race.  Dan's strength is climbing, so this course was well suited for his domination of the field.  Dan looked relaxed in the breakaway which held a 1 minute plus gap over the rest of the field.

The Women's team continued to demonstrate their power.  Kristen Gohr (cat 2) finished 2nd in the Women's Pro 1-2 category.  Kristen was part of a two person break that finished over 2 minutes ahead of the main pack.  Danielle Fischer (cat 4) place 2nd in the Women's 4 field.

The Men's team competed in several categories making a good showing of the Colavita Colours.  Julian Gent (Cat 3) Jason Moriarty (Cat 3) Chris Raymond (Cat 3)  Robert Vaughan (Cat 4) Bryon Lewis (Cat 4) Seth Haskell (Cat 4) and Rich Cohen (Cat 5) had strong race performances.
